18 and 19 November 2019: Advances in numerical modelling of adhesion and friction
Our MC members Nicola Pugno and Federico Bosia (both University of Trento, Italy) organised this workshop on November 18-19, 2019 in Trento (Italy).
The aim of the workshop was to provide an update on current theoretical and numerical modelling approaches in the field of adhesion and friction phenomena, especially in the context of biological systems and synthetic materials for bioinspired applications. Talks focused on new methods and approaches adopted to model adhesion, friction and their interaction in different settings and their effects on various types of surfaces, including examples of practical systems. This workshop provided the opportunity for ENBA participants from different backgrounds to interact and share knowledge on theoretical aspects of their work, including with a number of invited key experts of the field.
